The charts show bald index performance taking no account of dividends. It could well be, given that many HSCEI components pay significant dividends and many NASDAQ components notoriously do not, the absolute winner last year was, in fact, the HSCEI.
A five or ten year comparison of the two would be more useful and there it’d be clear where the medium/long-term advantage lay.
